I started this blog in 2020, while preparing for the EQE main exams. After passing all exams for the first time with flying colours, I started supporting other candidates on their EQE journey.
Since then, I tutored more than 150 candidates regularly (on a weekly basis), including people from prestigious companies such as the EPO, Finnegan, Keltie LLP, Grünecker, Maiwald, Hoffmann Eitle, Barker Brettell, Brann AB, Laine IP, Bergenstråhle & Partners, Nestle, Kuhnen & Wacker, Betten & Resch, P&TS, Appleyard Lees, Onsagers, Abel+Imray, Simmons & Simmons, Clarke Modet, Pirelli, Adidas, Novo Nordisk, Knauf, tesa SE, Japan Tobacco International and Roche and held about 300 meetings as an EQE tutor.

Refresher: Entry into EP phase and R.161 EPC
Entry into the Euro-PCT phase comes up at almost every EQE, so I wrote a summary of this topic as a refresher. Good news: this post also includes printable PDFs that you all love.

Refresher: Opposition
When I was preparing for the Pre-exam and Paper D, I often had difficulties with the topic of opposition, so I wanted to provide you with a summary of this long and difficult topic.

Summary of the EPO e-EQE meeting on 8th February
I have attended the EPO e-EQE meeting on 8th February 2022 so that I am up to date with any new requirements and the changes in WISEflow. This way, I will be more useful during our virtual AMA session as well.🙂
Read the post for my summary.

E-EQE: Virtual AMA meeting
Save the date: On 15th February 2022, I am hosting an online AMA (Ask Me Anything) meeting for EQE candidates, where freshly qualified European Patent Attorneys will answer your questions regarding the upcoming e-EQE.

Improvement ideas in a Paper D2
Paper D2 often asks you what kind of improvements you can do regarding the client’s applications and patents. I created a list of possible improvements that you might be able to use in a Paper D2.

Advent Calendar 2021
In this post I am sharing the content of my EQE Advent calendar with you that you could follow on LinkedIn from 1 December. If you missed any of the daily posts or would like to read them again, here you can find them all.

New courses and programs for you
The end of the year can be overwhelming. There are 3 months left til the EQE. December is very busy at every firm, and there is also Covid and Christmas to deal with. But I know that you can do this! To help you, I came up with new courses and programs (both free and paid).

Calendar for EQE 2022
In EQE 2022, no calendars will be provided with the examination papers. The basis for calculating time limits are the days on which the EPO filing offices are closed as published in the Official Journal. So, I prepared the EQE calendars for you.

Time limit calculations
The majority of the EQE legal questions include at least one time limit calculation, usually even more. So, I prepared a summary and a list of the most important tips regarding time limit calculations.

D1 study tips
There are 25 weeks (about 6 months) left until Paper D 2022. Instead of just starting reading and doing random D1 questions, consider my suggestions that I am sharing in this post.

Refresher: EP validation
There is not a big focus on European Patent Validation in Paper D, but while not read a little refresher on the topic?

Things to know about EQE 2022
The most important change is that the main exam will spread out over 2 weeks and that the distribution of marks in Paper D is 45:55. Other than that, EQE 2022 will be very similar to EQE 2021.

How to prepare for the pre-exam
I am sharing everything I would have found helpful when starting preparing for the pre-exam. This article includes suggested materials and a study plan for everyone preparing for the EQE pre-exam for the first time. Good luck!

EQE 2021 - my experience and results
This is just a summary of my EQE experience and probably also the last post regarding EQE 2021.

PCT time limits
PCT is many candidates’ weak point. To help, I have collected all PCT time limits for the EQE that you can also print for the exam.

Useful lists - PCT
I collected the list of ISA, IPEA and SISA authorities with relevant links. I also added the PCT publication languages and IP 5 offices.
You can also download a compact, printable pdf file for the EQE.

Refresher: Disclaimers
Disclaimers may also be a topic in the EQE, so I decided to revise it and prepare a summary hoping that it can be helpful for you as well.

Final preparations
Wow, only 10 days left until the EQE. I prepared a final checklist for myself, and again, I am sharing my notes here in case it helps anyone else.

Refresher: Partial priority
Partial priority can easily be a topic in this year’s Paper D, so I decided to revise it and prepare a summary hoping that it can be helpful for you as well.

The steps in WISEflow
If you did not have the chance to do Mock 2, read this article to find out about the different steps you have to do in WISEflow before the exam starts.
