What do you enjoy most about being a patent attorney?

It seems that hundreds of patent attorneys found my story about the difficulties of introducing ourselves familiar. I've never seen so many patent attorneys agreeing on something!

Despite not being recognized by the rest of the world – or being recognized as lawyers, we are proud to be patent attorneys and chose this career for a reason.

Patent attorneys are both attorneys and engineers, advisors and psychologists. Although our job to the outside world might be considered a boring and nerdy one, our daily job includes a wide range of very interesting and diverse tasks and responsibilities.

I really like my job as it combines using technical and legal knowledge; it also requires life long learning and keeping up-to-date with the case law and new technology. Our patent attorney job involves both sitting in front of a computer delving deeply into cases and talking to clients and inventors. Therefore, it really suits me, an introvert who loves people but also needs time to work alone. Furthermore, I've always liked doing many things, and my job as a patent and trademark attorney allows me to do exactly that.

What about you? Why do you like working as a patent attorney? What is your favorite thing about it?
