Random acts of kindness

The other day I woke up feeling bad about everything – for no apparent reason. However, instead of allowing my day to be "one of those days", I applied a few tricks to make myself feel better.

The first trick is buying a latte in my favourite coffee shop. For the second trick, keep reading. 🙂

On days you are feeling low, you also have these two options: accepting it and being grumpy (sometimes this seems to be the only option 😅) or making an effort and boosting your mood. Since our mood affects the surrounding people as well, I suggest the latter.

I found that one of the easiest and quickest way to feel better is shifting our focus from ourselves to other people. So, this is my second trick: making a random act of kindness. I (and the chemical oxytocin in our body) guarantee that you will feel a lot better afterwards.

It does not have to be difficult or expensive. Some ideas:
- Give a stranger a compliment
- Pick up litter on the street
- Pay for someone's coffee
- Call your family members
- Reach out to an old friend
- Prepare your partner's favourite meal

So, make a random act of kindness and improve your mood! What a beneficial combination, am I right?
