Paper C study group

Paper C study group

Would you like to learn and practice an e-EQE Paper C methodology?

I passed Paper C at the first electronic EQE (in 2021) with 81 marks. Since then, I showed my WISEflow compatible Paper C methodology to many EQE candidates, who used it with success.

During the first months of my Paper C preparation, I really struggled with that exam, and tried multiple different methods and tables. I really hated Paper C to be honest… Then, after doing so many previous exams, I finally understood what candidates are supposed to do.

The pass rate of Paper C is relatively low, but believe me, it is absolutely not impossible to pass for the first time! You need to have a WISEflow compatible method and practice many, many old papers to understand what you are expected to do and to improve your speed.

In my study groups I always focus on the practical side to make sure the information you learn is really helpful and helps you pass the exam. I will show my WISEflow compatible method and we will discuss 2 Paper C exams step-by-step.

For EQE 2025, I will tutor three Paper C study groups. Two of them have already been fully booked quite quickly. Since I receive many inquiries about Paper C, I decided to repeat the 3-day weekday course in February (2025).

A few feedbacks

“Zsofia is a very knowledgeable tutor and also genuinely cares and wants you to succeed, which is a fantastic combination because not only can she answer questions that may arise, but she also takes the time to provide meaningful answers in an effort to make sure everyone understands and learns.

The approach/methodology taught by Zsofia during the study group is very helpful and streamlines the process of approaching the exam, and doing multiple exams together in a step by step manner gives the opportunity to apply the methodology and learn it at the same time. Therefore, I would highly recommend Zsofia's study groups to anyone looking for an edge when it comes to approaching and passing the EQE exam.”

David

“The study group was very useful for me and Zsofia was very helpful.”

Arianna

'“Very interactive and engaging sessions.

Towards the end I felt as if I had not practiced enough number of past exams. So, I thought of skipping it this year. I asked you and your advice was clear: to sit the exam. I did by just focusing on your methodology and practicing the week between exam D and C. In my view it went better than I had hoped for🤞time will tell if I pass (comment: she passed!!!) but not a minute did I regret taking it. Thanks for the advice!”

Kanika

“Thank you for your great presentation, your session was really helpful.

I have attended one of the renowned preparation courses for Paper C, but we never got into real-time practice of the paper and with such an accurate simulation of exam conditions as you provided. Thank you very much. The job you're doing for EQE candidates is great.”

“In the paper C study course, Zsofia provides a clear methodology on how to address paper C of the EQE. One of the biggest advantages is that it is well adapted to the two-part paper C as provided in the e-EQE since 2021. Having the meetings on Sundays throughout the day and on Monday nights, her patience with ever-repeating questions is admirable.”

Florian

"The paper C course was a great course, the main reasons being that it is

1) hands-on,

2) well adapted for e-EQE, especially as exams become longer and more complex, and

3) reasonably priced compared to other courses out there."

Mahmoud

“The methodology Zsofia uses is easy to follow and very efficient. I definitely recommend EQE candidates to take Zsofia's paper C training course.”

“A short note to let you know that I passed paper C on the first attempt. In fact, I passed all four on the first attempt - I'm over the moon! My reason for contacting you is to let you know that I found your paper C live run-through invaluable - many thanks!”

“Thanks for all your help with the EQE exams (resources, sessions and general advice)!  The 4-hour Paper C session I joined where you went through the 2021 paper in real-time was, in particular, incredibly helpful and I'm sure the main reason why I passed.  Keep doing what you're doing!”

“I purchased the video recording for Paper C 2021 just a few days before the exam this year and it helped me greatly. I saved loads of time and managed to pass the paper as a first time sitter. Thanks a lot!”

“Thanks to the course, I improved my skills on how to efficiently seek for the most suitable attack for a claim by focusing on reading only the right documents; this method was very helpful because time is essential when dealing with the large amount of information in paper C.

As a matter of fact, the result was even more than what I have expected, because, not only I have improved my methodology, but also I have been able to continue practicing further with some of the participants until just before the exam, which boosted my preparation and my motivation to pass the exam.

I liked the open and very polite way of exchanging opinions: Zsofia is the personification of kindness. She listens and values all contributions to the discussion, no matter if right or wrong; she guides the group members to the solution, so that they can really understand why a certain attack is preferred above others. Last but not least, she does not only stick to a method, but also proposes variations, so that any candidate can find the one which is more suitable to his/her working style.”

Gianluca

“Thanks to your paper C real-time presentation I can call myself a European Patent Attorney :)”

“Thank you very much for your Paper C-session and for providing the video and materials afterwards. I really liked the way you went through the exam. It was easy to follow and well explained. Keep up the good work!”

“Today I went through your real-time Paper C exam video. I found it very clear and useful. Thank you so much.”

“The method you used is very efficient and helps in saving time during the exam, which is probably one of the biggest issues for many candidates.”

3-day long
Paper C study group with Zsofia

Weekday edition

Dates (2025):

  • 3 February (Monday) – Methodology and parts of 2015 Paper C

  • 10 February (Monday) – 2019 Paper C (divided in 2 parts)

  • 24 February (Monday) – 2021 Paper C (the first 2-part Paper C)

(Paper C 2025 will be held on Thursday, 20 March.)

Places: Minimum 10, maximum 15 people (on a first come, first served basis)

Meetings: Mondays from 10:00 (CET) (end time around 17:00/17:30 (CET))

If you’re planning to attend, don’t buy my Paper C e-EQE methodology recordings, as those include the discussion of the same exams (2015 and 2021).

This is a one-month long Paper C study group consisting of 3 long meetings.

Study plan: On the first day, we will discuss and practice the Paper C methodology, I will share some practical tips and we will do a few different claim attacks, mostly using 2015 Paper C. On the next two meetings we will focus on 2 different previous Paper C exams divided in 2 parts, doing them together, step-by-step, discussing all questions.

These will be longer meetings where we will read, analyse and discuss all issues together during the meeting, and you can ask me (and the others) (almost) anything, anytime. It’s absolutely up to you if you want to be more active or passive during the meetings, I will not force anything. Based on the experience from last year, please kindly note that it is highly unlikely that we will be able to write all attacks together in one day, as the exams are very long. We will discuss the interesting and difficult points though, and I will make sure that we write a few different attacks (both added subject matter, novelty and inventive step).

Please note: No preparation is needed from your side, you don’t need to read the documents beforehand. However, you are expected to know what Paper C is about and how the Problem-solution approach works (see below the useful links). We will not discuss the problem solution approach in general, but we will directly apply it in our answer.

This study group program includes:

  • 3 long online group meetings with Zsofia (held via Zoom), altogether about 21-23 hours of training;

  • Discussion of 2 previous Paper C exams (both divided into 2 parts just like your exam) and some additional parts of other Paper C exams on the first day;

  • Learning and practicing a WISEflow compatible e-EQE methodology;

  • Fully online meetings, allowing you to join from anywhere;

  • A copy of the recorded sessions (for the group members only) so that you can rewatch any parts of the meetings in case you cannot always be present.

If you prefer working on paper, you can print the exam before the meetings.

Useful links:

Joining the group is only possible for the full period of the 3 days. However, of course, if you cannot attend some parts of it, you will be able to catch up using the recording.

Correction of your answers is not included in the fee.
